HP’s Innovative Cloud-Based Devices Enable Productivity Anytime, Anywhere

Palo Alto, Calif., May 5, 2020 HP Inc. today announced new laptops and solutions designed to address the evolving needs of business users everywhere, demonstrating the company’s effort to help businesses and remote workers stay productive wherever they may be.

While businesses have been adopting cloud-centric solutions and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) to increase security and save costs, the recent pandemic has escalated the need for devices that empower those who primarily work with web applications and virtual desktop tools. In a recent survey, HP discovered that nearly 60% of users working from home during quarantine are doing so with personal machines,6 presenting significant security risk from unmanaged devices. The average employee is also using 22 cloud-based apps​ to do their job.7

The HP Elite c1030 Chromebook Enterprise engages senses on a stunning edge-to-edge screen with optional HP Sure View Reflect and LTE connectivity.

The HP Elite c1030 Chromebook Enterprise makes the most of immersive web experiences, desktop virtualization, and Android apps with a stunning, edge-to-edge 13.5” diagonal 3:2 display that boasts a 90.1% screen-to-body ratio, the highest ever on a Chromebook.9 The latest 10th Gen Intel processors10 deliver outstanding performance with an active-cooling system that enables intensive multi-tasking of apps and video conferences with a battery life up to 12 hours.11 Beautifully crafted in a 360-degree design, the device also delivers:

  • Security inside and out. The world’s first Chromebook with an integrated privacy screen12, HP Sure View Reflect instantly keeps the display private with the press of a button.13 The integrated fingerprint sensor and built-in webcam privacy switch provide additional confidence for users and IT alike.
  • Premium performance and productivity. The world’s first business Chromebook based on Intel’s Project Athena innovation program designed to deliver a new class of advanced laptops.14 Wi-Fi 6 with HP Extended Range Wireless LAN15 and optional LTE16 provide data access, real-time collaboration, and connection from wherever they may be working.
  • Sustainability. Responsibly made with a top lid of 75% recycled aluminum, a keyboard made from 50% recycled plastics, and speakers with ocean-bound plastics. Targeted to achieve an EPEAT® Gold rating in twenty countries for the device,17 making it the first Chromebook to achieve this recognized industry standard for sustainability.

The HP Pro c640 Chromebook Enterprise is the world’s thinnest 14” business Chromebook.

The HP Pro c640 Chromebook Enterprise is designed for users to easily navigate work in the cloud. The device is powered by the latest 10th Gen Intel® processors18 and users can spend more time getting work done with up to 12 hours of battery life19 and HP Fast Charge, which recharges the battery to 90% in 90 minutes.20 The device also delivers:

  • Durability. The world’s thinnest 14” Chromebook21 with a stylish aluminium exterior, the Chromebook is designed to pass rigorous MIL-STD testing22 and has a backlit keyboard that resists spills up to 350 ml of water.
  • Enterprise-grade security. The HP Privacy Camera with integrated shutter helps protect from camera hacks while an optional integrated fingerprint sensor provides fast access.
  • Seamless collaboration. Equipped with Wi-Fi 6 and HP’s proprietary extended range LAN, cloud users get increased networking range and performance. The 180-degree hinge lay-flat design and built-in webcam and audio allow for easy collaboration, and the integrated HDMI port removes the need for dongles.23

The HP Chromebook Enterprise 14 G6 has a wipeable keyboard to reduce the spread of germs.

Also new to the portfolio is the HP Chromebook Enterprise 14 G6, redesigned to deliver performance and value for frontline worker productivity. The laptop’s keyboard can be wiped with popular household wipes.24 Users can easily expand their workspace with HDMI and future-ready USB-C®. Get more done with up to 13.5 hours of battery life25 plus HP Fast Charge capabilities and prevent remote camera hacking with the HP Privacy Camera.26 Users can also enjoy enhanced Wi-Fi® performance with HP Extended Range Wireless LAN.27

 

Driving Seamless Transitions to Virtual Workspaces

The HP mt22 Mobile Thin Client is purpose-built for VDI and durability.

The HP mt22 Mobile Thin Client delivers secure and productive mobile experiences for users of VDI, such as Citrix® and VMware®. HP’s ThinPro OS provides multi-layered security to user data, device, and identity in combination with a self-healing BIOS and HP Privacy Camera.28 Designed for durability and dependability, the mt22 is the world’s first mobile thin client with a 180-degree lie-flat hinge29 and has a solid stamped-aluminum chassis that undergoes MIL-STD testing.30 Intel® Celeron® processors31 and HP Extended Range Wireless LAN32, 33 deliver elevated productivity, and users can quickly transition to a desk, displays, and accessories by connecting to an HP USB-C® dock.34

 

HP Thin Pro Go is a USB boot device that transforms legacy and personal PCs into secure devices for work.

HP also announced HP ThinPro Go which enables secure work to happen anywhere by allowing employees to boot up in an HP ThinPro OS environment on PCs from a USB for instant, secure access to business applications and corporate data.

 

Sustainability

HP announced it has the most sustainable PC portfolio in the world,35 and is committed to including ocean-bound plastic material in all new HP Elite and HP Pro desktop and laptops launching in 2020. The Elite c1030 Chromebook Enterprise is the latest addition to the company’s sustainability innovations and is the world’s first Chromebook with ocean-bound plastics.36 HP recently announced the world’s first mobile workstation with ocean-bound plastics, the HP ZBook Studio and HP ZBook Create.
