HP 3D Printing Continues to Grow across Asia Pacific and Japan with New Partners and Customers

News highlights:

·    DKSH Holding Ltd. will provide HP Jet Fusion 3D Printing Solutions to customers in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, increasing the availability of the technology across Southeast Asia.

·    HP becomes the official technology supplier to Triple Eight Race Engineering in Australia. In addition to providing workstations and graphic solutions, HP will be 3D printing parts for its racing cars.

·    SOLIZE Products launches consulting service using HP Jet Fusion 3D 4200 Printing Solution to help businesses handle production and management of spare parts.

 

SINGAPORE, July 18, 2018 — Today at HP Imagine, its regional enterprise customer event, HP showcased the growing adoption of its 3D printing solutions in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) with new industry-leading customers, an expanding reseller community and new breakthrough applications.

The region, which is primed for digital transformation, represents nearly half of the $12 trillion global manufacturing industry. HP’s vision for 3D printing in the region is to empower companies to accelerate their time to market and compete more effectively in this fast-growing market.

By working together with leading manufacturers, materials suppliers, service bureaus, and software design firms in the region, HP is able to transform every step of the value chain: from design to workflow to materials to fabrication to post-processing to supply-chain to recyclability.

In the year since HP’s 3D printing business was launched in APJ, HP has grown its customer installations and  ecosystem of strategic partners like DKSH, eVoke3D and Solize Products across China, Japan, SE Asia, Korea, India and the South Pacific.

 

Increasing Opportunities for 3D Printing Adoption with Partners

DKSH: DKSH Holding Ltd. will provide HP Jet Fusion 3D Printing Solutions to customers in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, increasing the availability of the technology across Southeast Asia. DKSH, the leading Market Expansion Services provider for technology companies in Asia, is HP’s first partner to distribute its 3D printers in Malaysia.

With the HP Jet Fusion 4200 and 4210 Printing Solutions, customers will be able to reinvent how they prototype and produce functional parts at high-volume and lower cost per part. The printers also offer superior, consistent part quality, continuous printing, fast cooling and breakthrough productivity with minimal intervention.

SOLIZE Products: In collaboration with HP, SOLIZE Products has launched a consulting service for the production and management of spare parts for the automotive and consumer electronics markets. The 3D-printed prototyping service provider and reseller of 3D printers is deploying HP Jet Fusion 3D Printing Solutions to produce final commercial parts, reducing the cost and burden on product manufacturers to manage and maintain molds and dyes needed for product repairs and parts replacements. SOLIZE Products offers customers the option of using their production service or purchasing the HP Jet Fusion 3D 4200 Printing Solution with their operational support.

Guangdong (Dali) 3D Printing Collaborative Innovation Platform:  In June 2018, HP launched a new production-grade 3D printing center in Foshan, China – one of the largest manufacturing markets in the world.  The new Lanwan Intelligence - HP Multi Jet Fusion Technology Mass Manufacturing Centre will provide production-grade applications at scale for major automotive and consumer goods sectors as well as other industries in the Greater Bay Area of Southern China. The Center will exclusively use HP Multi Jet Fusion 3D printing systems, which deliver the speed, quality and economics required for production-grade 3D printing. This is HP’s largest deployment of production-grade 3D printers in Asia Pacific and Japan and will help to meet the increasing demand for functional prototypes and production-grade parts in southern China.

Jabil: Complementing its U.S.-based HP Multi Jet Fusion installation, Jabil added six production-ready HP Jet Fusion 4210 3D printers in Singapore to unite product designers in Silicon Valley with Singapore-based manufacturing teams. Jabil, one of the largest product solutions companies in the world, is using its Jabil Additive Manufacturing Network to accelerate the distributed manufacturing of products developed using HP Multi Jet Fusion technology, among them parts for HP’s own 3D printers. More than 140 parts for HP’s Jet Fusion 300/500 full-color 3D printers are being produced by Jabil in what is believed to be the most 3D printed parts for any commercial product in the world. The center in Singapore is the largest production setup in Asia.

Imaginarium: A certified HP 3D printing reseller partner, Imaginarium, brings expertise and knowledge of HP’s Multi Jet Fusion technology to customers deploying the solutions, as well as value added services such as the enablement of new applications and industry-leading response time and service quality. HP is planning to set up service bureaus with Imaginarium where 3DP can be provided as a service. The service bureau will make it easier for designers to test their prototypes, thereby increasing the pace of product innovation, accelerating product development and opening up opportunities for mass customization.

 

Developing Innovative, High-Impact Solutions with HP Multi-Jet Fusion 3D Printing Solutions

Triple Eight Race Engineering: HP recently became the official technology supplier for Australia’s Triple Eight Race Engineering - the team behind the Red Bull Holden Racing Team and Autobarn Lowndes Racing. HP will enhance the team’s capabilities through the industry’s leading PC hardware, monitors and data transfer capabilities across each of their three Supercars Championship entries.  In addition, the collaboration will revolutionise Triple Eight Race Engineering’s 3D printing capabilities, enabling car components to be engineered and printed in-house.

iOrthotics: Brisbane-based iOrthotics, is the first orthotics manufacturer in the world to have completely transitioned from polypropylene milling to 3D additive manufacturing – a faster, more sustainable method for producing custom-made orthotic devices that are significantly stronger. iOrthotics’ extensive research with the University of Queensland helped determine that HP 3D printing would assist them in developing products that are superior in quality, faster, and produced with almost zero waste. With the ability to extend their capabilities, they are undertaking orthotic and prosthetic fabrication and offering a 3D bureau printing service for engineering and industrial clients. They recently opened a center in Windsor, Queensland, in June to better scale their distribution and manufacturing functions. With HP 3D printing, they have increased their production levels significantly, and are now on their way to more than doubling their reach to 130+ clinics nationally and have begun exporting overseas.

Mutoh Industries: The Japanese large format printer manufacturer uses HP 3D printing technology to develop pen holders for their large format printers. The HP Jet Fusion 3D 4200 printer produces quality parts with significant cost savings compared to the traditional injection moulding method they used previously that ages rapidly and becomes unusable. With HP 3D printing, Mutoh is able to redesign the pen holder to be produced in two parts instead of 4, lowering the cost of production cost and inventory management.

Kinboshi Inc: The maker of security and environment products for the police, security and building maintenance companies and geriatric facitlities faced challenges making flexible design changes using traditional injection moulding manufacturing processes due to the long lead times and high costs. With the HP Jet Fusion 3D 4200 Printer, they can develop designs in a day at the fraction of the cost and are able to test their designs and prototypes with their customers before finalizing the designs. Kinboshi uses the HP 3D  printing solution to develop a built-in cooling system in the uniforms of security guards to prevent heat strokes.
