Palo Alto, Calif. (March 27, 2020): Designed to help customers be more agile in an ever-changing environment, HP today announced it is expanding its pioneering pay-per-use 3D-as-a-Service (3DaaS) Plus subscription model to new markets. Companies already leveraging this low-risk all-inclusive solution include innovators such as Wallbox, Robotechnik, HIPP medical, and many more. The 3DaaS Plus offering is now available in the U.S., Italy, Germany, UK, Ireland, France, Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain, with Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Portugal, and Sweden launching on April 1.

HP’s all-inclusive 3D printing subscription services enable customers to produce high-quality parts at an economic price point while improving their capital and business flexibility, which is more important today than ever,” said Rebecca Campbell, Director of 3D Printing Services, HP Inc. “With the expansion of our 3DaaS Plus subscription, we are making it easier for companies to continue the important job of manufacturing, leveraging our predictable pay-per-use model that unlocks more agility and value.”

The new 3DaaS Plus subscription model is an all-inclusive solution that comes complete with the HP Jet Fusion 340 3D printer as well as supplies, service, customer support, and training needed.  Ideal for customers looking to accelerate product life cycles with optimized in-house rapid prototyping and final part production, 3DaaS Plus is the easiest and most economical way to get access to Multi Jet Fusion technology. Based on a deep analysis and understanding of customer needs, this solution includes simplified supplies ordering and inventory management with automatic supplies replenishment, an online dashboard for easy tracking of billing and usage, and immediate access to support and comprehensive training.

Early customers leveraging HP’s 3DaaS Plus subscription include:

  • Wallbox, a global electric vehicle (EV) charging station manufacturer focused on designing, manufacturing, and distributing intelligent charging solutions for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid-electric vehicles.
  • Robotechnik, one of the largest manufacturers of inspection solutions in solar manufacturing based in Germany.
  • HIPP medical, a producer of cutting tools based in Germany with the aim that these tools are as patient-friendly as possible.

o   As an OEM supplier for leading medical technology companies, HIPP medical has invested in new machines and equipment in its production facility. HIPP has implemented the most modern production technologies, which distinguishes it from its competitors. In addition to prototyping and the production of customer-specific components and instruments, HIPP medical specializes in manufacturing cutting tools such as bone drills, taps, and bone mills as well as implants and the corresponding instruments for orthopedics and dentistry. Due to its own manufacturing facilities, HIPP accompanies the customer competently from the development and rapid prototyping to the manufacturing and function testing of parts. Constructive, transparent collaboration and consultation are fundamental elements of the company’s philosophy.

“One of the pillars of our product design is to make really compact yet powerful chargers. From this vision arose the necessity for a state-of-the-art integration between mechanics and electronics,” said Eduard Castañeda, Chief Product Officer of Wallbox. “HP’s 3DaaS Plus helps us be even more agile in today’s rapidly changing environment and meet high customer expectations."

3DaaS Plus builds on the success of the 3DaaS Base subscription service, which provides customers automatic replenishment of HP 3D Supplies, simplified tracking of billing and usage, and reliable remote and on-site support services. 3DaaS Base is available for the HP Jet Fusion 5200, HP Jet Fusion 4200, and HP Jet Fusion 500 series 3D solutions.
