HP Revolutionizes Your Game Space with the OMEN X 65 Big Format Gaming Display with NVIDIA G-SYNC™

January 8, 2018

For the longest time, using a massive display has meant sacrificing the ability to play your games at a level that keeps you in line with the competition. In response to this issue, we’ve engineered something incredible to make this tradeoff a thing of the past.

Coming later this year, we’ll be launching the OMEN X 65 Big Format Gaming Display with NVIDIA G-SYNC™. This colossal 65-inch, 4K1 display will provide HDR102 picture quality, an ultra-low latency mode, a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz5, and 1000 nits3 peak luminance. The display’s core focus will be to provide cutting edge visuals and performance for PC gaming in the living room or game room environment.

To ensure we’re keeping in line with this philosophy, we’ve collaborated with NVIDIA® to integrate their G-SYNC™ technology4 into the OMEN X 65. G-SYNC™ eliminates screen tearing while it minimizes input lag and display stutter to provide smooth, sharp gameplay that gives you an edge in your game. It does this by synchronizing the display’s refresh rate to the GPU’s render rate so that images will display the moment they are rendered5.

Pete Ellis, HP's OMEN Displays Product Manager spoke to this further when he stated, "working with NVIDIA® to implement variable refresh rates on a large screen size has been amazing. Before this existed, a gamer might have bought a nice 4K TV for a more socially-engineered living room space for console gaming. In addition, they would also have purchased a variable refresh rate monitor for their gaming PC. With the OMEN X 65 we have a display that can do both."

Our relationship doesn’t just end with providing the most fluid visuals possible in gaming. NVIDIA® SHIELD™ will also come built-in with the OMEN X 65 to give owners advanced streaming capabilities to experience episodic content and movies, voice control with Google Assistant, and more.

"It’s exciting to work with HP, one of the world’s leading PC companies, to help introduce Big Format Gaming Displays," said Matt Wuebbling, global head of GeForce marketing at NVIDIA. "Integrating NVIDIA® G-SYNC™ and SHIELD™ into the HP OMEN X 65 has culminated in a display that will be awesome for giant screen PC gaming."

In fact, there will be multiple connectivity options to serve as a hub for a variety of digital devices ranging from game consoles and set top boxes, to streaming and Blu-ray players. So, whether you’re connecting your old Windows 10 tablet to the OMEN X 65 to play games running off your OMEN Desktop upstairs via OMEN Game Stream6 or tuning into the latest match of the Overwatch League – running exclusively on OMEN PCs – without a doubt gamers and digital content consumers alike will feel right at home with the OMEN X 65.
